A unique vision of Dorset

I am primarily a plein air painter and through my work I capture the seascapes and landscapes of Dorset. With my characteristic loose brush marks, I explore the county, recording the fleeting effects of light captured in the moment to create fresh visions of the land I call home. My work investigates the poetry of place which roots me to Dorset, delving into its history and and connections to literature.

I am also a potter and create pieces inspired by my childhood on the Isle of Portland. I am currently working on a project to preserve the colloquial Portland dialect.

I studied Foundation in Art at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design and then graduated from The University of Brighton with a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting. I now live in the heart of Dorset and the surrounding rolling hills are often featured in my work.

My work has been selected for several juried exhibitions including the Dorset Open and the Sherborne Open. Amongst my awards are winner of Art in The Park at Poole 2026 and overall winner of The Gallery Upstairs Open 2025.
